Sofia is originally from Chile and moved to Chicago five years ago. She graduated from her Ph.D. in human nutrition and metabolism in 2021 and is now a postdoctoral researcher at UIC. Her main area of research is intermittent fasting for treating metabolic and cardiovascular diseases. Besides her work in research, she loves science communication and has an Instagram account (@sofia100) where she spreads evidence-based nutrition and sciences. She loves cooking, spending time with her dog Greta and also has a passion for vegetable gardening. Every summer, she grows different veggies on her tiny balcony. She is happy to meet new friends virtually and in the Chicago area as well!
